Helicopter Twirls Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular California Shoreline
A chopper flying near a well-attended southern California beach suddenly commenced twirling out of control, ultimately dropping height and smashing into a line of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Footage shared on the internet show the helicopter starting to spin above Huntington Beach then plunging towards the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a staircase near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Local firefighters said five individuals were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
